Girl Scout Roller Derby Day

Get ready to lace up, gear up, and roll into confidence! Girl Scout Roller Derby Day is an exciting, hands-on introduction to the fast-paced world of roller derby—where teamwork, courage, and grit take center track.

Girls will start the afternoon getting fitted with safety gear and meeting experienced roller derby skaters who will guide them through the basics of the sport. Participants will learn essential skating skills like balance, safe falling techniques, stopping, and accelerating—building confidence on wheels in a supportive and empowering environment.

After a short break, girls will get an up-close look at a full-contact scrimmage demonstration by current youth derby skaters, followed by their own chance to hit the track in a no-contact beginner scrimmage. The day wraps up with an open track session and a Q&A, giving girls time to ask questions, practice new skills, and explore what it’s like to be part of a roller derby team.

Whether it’s their first time on skates or they’re ready for a new challenge, this action-packed program encourages girls to try something bold, support one another, and discover just how strong they can be—on and off the track.  Confidence, teamwork, and fun guaranteed
