October 11th is International Day of the Girl Child and we are celebrating by kicking off our three part Girl Rising Series! This series focuses on the access girls have to education throughout the world. Each session will focus on a different chapter from the film Girl Rising and include a guest speaker. This first session is all about becoming an agent of change by raising awareness and inspiring your peers to take action for girls everywhere.

We are excited to welcome SLO Police Detective Suzie Walsh as our guest speaker!

Wear warm comfortable layered clothing and closed toe shoes. Bring a reusable water bottle and snacks.

While this event is open to all age levels the curriculum it is designed for Juniors and up. The films we will be watching often are in a different language and have subtitles.

Girls will not be earning their Global Action Award or World Thinking Day Award, but this series are intended to support your girls in earning these awards.
