DESCRIPTION:Come aboard the Western Flyer - where marine research, education science, and art meet! \n \n \n The Western Flyer is an integral part of our local history serving as the vessel that took John Steinbeck & Ed Ricketts on a pioneering expedition for marine ecology, sailing from from Monterey to the Sea of Cortez - come tour the docked vessel, learn about its scientific and literary legacy, observe marine life, collect plankton, and explore microscopic worlds in the Flyer’s onboard lab. The boat stays at berth during this program, but the experience opens wide the doors of exploration. Enjoy an integrative art and science day including nature journaling, marine biology and oceanography data collection, and other unique experiences! \n \n \n \n \n \n Got GSCCC Credits?
