DESCRIPTION:Take the first step in your wilderness adventure! Designed for individuals, our Wilderness Hiking Course safely takes Girl Scouts and adults out of the campground and into the woods. Wilderness Hiking covers outdoor skills and knowledge and is a prerequisite for the Basic Backpacking and Advanced Backpacking course. Spend the first session in the classroom and your second session on the trail learning about safety, proper gear and equipment, the Leave No Trace ethic, and building independence in Girl Scouts. This class lays a strong foundation for more extraordinary adventures. Have an entire troop interested? Contact us to arrange a course! \n  \n  \n Cost: $35/ individual covers course materials and "10 Essentials" starter kit. Refunds are available only when Girls Scouts cancels event.  \n  \n  \n Girls can attend without an adult. \n  \n  \n Meetings: 1st session Class - 6/11/2025 2nd session Hiking - 6/18/2025 \n
