DESCRIPTION:Join Girl Scouts of California Central's Coast as we partner with STEMs Grow - an organization that focuses on hands - on educational STEM activities! Brownies will learn the life cycle of a monarch butterfly. They'll see exciting videos from each stage of the caterpillar to butterfly transformation, and learn about the survival and adaptations of this beautiful species.  \n  \n  \n After the butterfly life cycle lesson, Brownies will begin the process of growing their own milkweed plant. They will learn how to 'prep' the seeds for growth through a process called "cold stratification", followed by planting of the seeds. Brownies can then go on to plant and grow milkweed, attracting their own Monarch caterpillars and butterflies!  \n  \n  \n Fee: $5.00 - includes badge \n  \n  \n Supplies needed: \n  \n  \n - Natural Root Peat Pellets \n  \n  \n - Butterfly Milkweed seeds for planting  \n
