DESCRIPTION:GSCCC is celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month by hosting a live virtual cooking class via Zoom. Girl Scouts will be cooking a Latin dish alongside GSCCC Council staff. The recipe card will be sent to all members a week prior to the program. Girl Scouts will earn a patch highlighting Dolores Huerta, an American labor leader and civil rights activist who, with Cesar Chavez, is a co-founder of the National Farmworkers Association, which later became the United Farm Workers (UFW). \n  \n  \n National Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated from September 15 through October 15, recognizes and celebrates the history, presence, and contributions of the many Latinos living in the United States. National Hispanic Heritage Month was first established as a week-long celebration by President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1968. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan expanded it to a month-long celebration. \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n GSCCC está celebrando el Mes Nacional de la Herencia Hispana con una clase de cocina virtual en vivo a través de Zoom.
